Version 1.1 out now!

Before I start working on the rest of the game in earnest, I decided to update the game a bit, and it ended up being a bit more substantial than I thought. Due to a bunch of changes to base things, I recommend playing with a fresh save file. Besides, starting fresh with version 1.1 will probably be a smoother ride.

NEW ADDITIONS

  • A new system menu has been added to let you tweak audio and menu color.
  • And coming with the system menu is ":) Mode". :) Mode makes the game both easier and harder in that enemies will get new moves while the mode is active, but party members will now gift Ramona money to throw their weight around and there's new added opportunities to make money.
  • A local church has been added to the apartment area. While characters lose stats when they are knocked out, there's now an incentive to just deal with it instead of reloading a save in that when a character dies a certain amount of times, they can visit the church to restore some stats and get a new skill. Pay a visit when a character is downed 3 and 7 times!
  • Artifacts have been added as a new piece of equipment! Most characters can equip up to three of them, which grants some minor stat changes and new interchangeable skills! Acquire new artifacts by using the Artifact Gacha items!

GAME CHANGES

  • Minor character stat rebalancing.
  • The early game is generally rebalanced to be easier. For example:
    • The bosses have lower health; though, to keep them legitimate threats for rematch ambushes, they get new moves depending on what level you are.
    • Stanley ambushes are changed so that the original variant will only show up if you have $300 while you'll only fight a nerfed variant normally. Additionally, the encounter will now end if you have no more money.
    • The early game equipment is a bit cheaper.
    • Hints are cheaper.
    • The Wrath Slime ambush in front of the apartment won't trigger until you get Devon into the party. This is totally not in response to me getting jumped immediately after leaving the sewer.
  • Pills have been added as a rare item drop for most enemies.
  • The casino's arena is moved to a 2nd floor area upstairs. Its original spot is now taken up by a place where you can open up stratum chests in exchange for money.
  • Most notable NPCs now have face portraits.
